Did you know one in three young people leaving the care system experience homelessness within two years? Our new charity partner Barnardo’s supports care experienced young people and that’s why we’re teaming up with them and Leeds Rhinos for a very special matchday takeover.
A game-changing takeover
Barnardo’s will take centre stage for the Rhinos’ Super League clash against Castleford Tigers on Saturday 1 June. We’re donating our usual advertising space for the day to Barnardo’s to help them build brighter tomorrows for young people leaving care.
During the match, the Barnardo’s logo will feature on the players’ shirts to raise awareness and funds for their invaluable work. We’re also donating 50 matchday tickets to Barnardo’s and our financial education partner, BECOME, so that local families can experience the thrill of a rugby game.
We’ll be auctioning off one of the Barnardo’s shirts after the game, with all the money going towards supporting young people leaving the care system. Plus, fans will have a chance to get their hands on one of the special shirts through giveaways on our social channels.
But we’re not just swapping logos on shirts – we’re raising awareness of the barriers faced by young people in care.
